DISTRICT 27-B1 LIONS
50th Annual Convention
NOVEMBER 14 & 15, 2025 Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center
The Lions and Leos of 27-B1 invite you to the 50th Annual Convention of District 27-B1 at the Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center.

Hello Lions, LEOs, and Guests. We are so excited about this year’s MD27 B1 District convention which will be November 14th and 15th in Oshkosh. Our district will be celebrating a milestone "50th" district convention this year. Our guest will be International Director Debbie Hough Cantrell from Missouri.

DG Roxanne and her convention committee are working hard to put together an exciting, entertaining and learning experience for everyone, especially new members and those who have never attended a convention before. We want you to come away more inspired and eager to serve your community and those in need. First timers will have a fun contest to participate in. DG Roxanne has put together a very nice "prize" for the winner!

In honor of our "50th" convention, DG Roxanne will be recognizing all the Past District Governors for their hard work and dedication to our district over the past 50 years.

Her convention theme is "Smiles are Contagious." The Friday night hospitality theme is "Lions Rock & Roll" with an old- fashioned Sock Hop with entertainment by the Del Rays. Dig out your poodle skirts, your saddle shoes and bobby socks and get ready to dance the night away.

The opening ceremony on Saturday morning will include the flag ceremony, recognition of veterans, nominations for DG, VDG, 2nd VDG, WLF Director, 2026 convention site, district pin as well as the peace poster and new this year, peace essay. We have two speakers who will share their stories on how Lions helped their families.

The noon luncheon will include keynote speaker ID Debbie Hough Cantrell, as well as awards and raffles and the Service of Remembrance. If your club has lost a member since the last convention, please send a photo to PDG Tom Clausen, lionsof27b1@gmail.com to be included in the service.

The afternoon seminars include Susan Perry, a domestic violence survivor, "Beneath the Tarp", speaker Jennie Schneider, her son a cancer survivor, and a mother who found out that all 3 of her children were going blind from Stargardt Degeneration as well as speakers for Leader Dog, Restoring Hope Transplant House, Wisconsin Eye Bank and WLF.

Voting will take place after the seminars and the convention will conclude with the closing banquet. DG Roxanne will recognize all our B1 PDGs for their service for our district. Without their dedication and hard work, we would not be where we are today. Perhaps they will hare some of their "wisdom" they gathered throughout the years! Surprise entertainment will close the evening.

The convention packets will be distributed at your first zone meeting.

Please encourage ALL of your members to attend, new and old. We will also have many basket raffles, 50/50 raffles and some great silent auction items to try your luck at all! You don't want to miss all the fun as the "Lions Rock and Roll."

Make your reservations now by calling 920-230-6280 and ask for Lori Bilkey, Group Reservation Coordinator. Make sure to mention the 27-B1 Lions Convention to get the convention rate of $119.99 (plus tax).
Join us for the celebration, we promise it will be a blast!
